The package arrived two days after Christmas, but that is on the post office. The engine arrived in the original Lionel shipping carton. The packing is thick styrene bead and shock absorbent. This engine is better than the catalog description. The picture in the Lionel catalog does not do it justice. The russia iron blue is much better in person. This Legacy engine is quite the value!

I was a bit confused so I contacted the seller who explained that he basically charged $3.79 +$5.00 for shipping. So basically it didn't include free shipping. I realize sellers hope to make a profit, so in that case they should remove the eBay price tag before shipping items so as not to confuse their customers. That price tag wasn't shown in original pics.
