About us
When we started the FlipCD music store on eBay a little over a year ago, it was a bit of an act of capitalistic conservation. See, because of the chemical make-up of CDs, they are almost impossible to recycle*. Discarded CDs go straight to landfills where they are doomed to spend the next 1000 years.
Maybe, I reasoned, we could help short-circuit the problem by getting used CDs into the hands of people who love music. Thus was born the idea for the FlipCD music store on eBay.
* CDs are made of various mined metals (aluminum, gold, silver and nickel) with petroleum-derived plastics, lacquers and dyes.
