My first stamp hooked me at the age of 6. A 25c Paul Revere coil roll from the Liberty issue caught my eye at a friend’s house one afternoon. The engraving of an important person and emerald color on such a tiny paper struck me. I asked if I could have one and the rest is history! I still have that “first stamp” and while it’s since yellowed from finger oils, creased, has no remaining gum, and was hinged with duct tape… it remains my most treasured stamp. I’ve been collecting 45 years and focus on the Columbian 1893 and 1992 issue and British North America though I appreciate all stamps. I prefer postally used stamps because they did their duty, survived tough odds, a cancel adds character … and my budget goes further!
I dabble with coins and comicbooks because those are cool Americana too!
Lastly, I’m an APS and USPCS member and treat my collaborators as I like to be treated. The friendships are most important. My day job I lead R&D for a global CPG. Thanks for dropping in!
