About us
The West Michigan Spartans are a tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization (as the MSU Club of West Michigan) that serve the alumni and friends of Michigan State University in Kent, Ottawa, Allegan, and Barry counties. This footprint includes the cities of Grand Rapids, Holland, Grand Haven, and Hastings.
The West Michigan Spartans are active. The chapter has two primary fundraisers that celebrate all things football (Spartan Winter Tailgate) and all things basketball (Shawn Respert Charity Golf Classic) that help fund our scholarships (four endowed plus our Outstanding Junior Award Scholarship program) and our friendraisers. Our friendraisers include MSU Means Business!, Fall Harvest Spectacular, our Speakers Series, Spartan Euchre Nights, Broadway Grand Rapids shows, watch parties, Spartan Stadium Tailgates, and many more.
