About us

Ben and Joy decided to combine our online sales into one shop so we can better assist our customers. Botanical Joy Plants and Ben's House of Comics combined over a year ago though we only recently launched this store as you see it. Joy brings several college degrees and over twenty years of shipping experience, with 6 of those years shipping plants including winter shipping. She has sold plants for 7 years in pet shops and online. She has cared for plants as long as she can remember and is happy to share her vast knowledge of horticulture with you. She has also worked in an antique, gift, and jewelry store and as a park ranger, educator, and assistant museum curator. Ben is a lifetime collector of comic books and "fun toys," a true guys guy who loves the outdoors. His knowledge of superheroes helped him earn a degree, and his knack for helping people has kept him working full time. Joy talked him into curating his collection a bit, and sharing his knowledge with anyone interested.

    I saw Joy's profile and just had to send a private message, and we struck up a nice long convo about plants (since we are crazy plant people). We had a fun time making a custom bundle after I requested to see what in her crazy plant collection she could put together under a certain budget.     Well got two plants and they sent me two extras that are pretty nice! Can’t complain at all! Great value considering what was sent. The two plant I purchased were very nice established plants. All plants were packed well. Despite the fact that part of the box was damaged all 4 plants were undamaged. They were sent unpotted and the roots were wrapped in moss to keep them moist for the trip. I love every thing I got and was surprised by the two extras. Very happy customer. 5 stars 🌟!
