This Chinese Yongnuo prime lens (32mm f/2) can be used as a walk-around lens. It has 8 blades and produces nice bokeh backgrounds for sharp portraits, too. It has auto and manual focus; a comprable Canon lens with added Image Stabilization would cost you about $550. The lensdoes not rotate -so you can use filters such as Polarizers with no worries about it rotating while focusing. Before you buy be sure to review what has been said about this lens such as "it is not good for video", I haven't tried to do video with this lens. The image gets sharper at about F3 to F8. It does NOT have IS but for under $100 how can you go wrong! I am a retired teacher and enjoy photography---my name is Raymond François

Using this lens to focus manually is a major setback for this lens. When turning the focus ring, there is too much slack along the x,y axis. This cause a hit or miss type scenario. As soon as you take your fingers off the focus ring the barrel shifts and causes the lens to go out of focus. I purchased this lens for food photography and would strongly recommend against buying this lens.

The package was good and lens came safely, in a perfect condition. Lens itself has a very good quality, it’s an awesome portrait lens. It makes noise while focusing but you can forgive such a little imperfection, price explains everything. Very happy with a purchase.

Excellent lens. On the Nikon d3300 arose as a mother. Front-back focus there. Autofocus is not very fast, but accurate. Quite sharply, starting with 2.4-2.8

This Yongnuo has a really sharp image, great bokeh, fast aperture and has been giving me a lot of great photos, since I got it. It does has cons, because the autofocus and AF checking is not always the best fit, but since I do most of my work in manual mode (camera and lens), it hasn't been much trouble since. If you want a fast response and automatic focusing lens, you might look for another brand, but if you want artistic and nice pics at a budget, this is the best choice you'll get. Highly recommended.
