As a retired electrical engineer with a solid RF background, this antenna offers decent value and performance for the price. Personally, this antenna is recommended for attic installations...away from UV exposure and high winds since it utilizes a lot of plastic, lock in place, insulators with unknown chemical makeup to determine long term reliability. Not sure if the aluminum is clear chem film treated and if hardware is plated for corrosion protection....so....mounting in the attic of out single story home, this is a great antenna for our installation. Using a Winegard LNA200 antenna preamp, inline 75ohm lightening suppressor tube and 50ft RG6 runs to a 2 way splitter (for 2 TV's), HD broadcast reception is very stable at 15 miles from transmitters with tall trees in line of sight. The overall gain and directivity makes a huge, predictable difference in receiving signal quality.Read full review

Before I was using a cheap $23.00 30" long antenna built in a signal booster which attached in front of the reflector. Because ATL PBS picture all PBS channels were unstable. So I need upgrade. After replaced this long expensive 7 feet long antenna, most of time same channels to compare, were worst than my old short antenna. I was not sure if buy a expensive signal booster to add , whether would receives PBS channels better.

I was impressed by the few reviews I read about this Antenna. I replaced a much smaller 150 miles amplified antenna with this one. The assembly was effortless and took about 10 minutes to fold the receiver out and attached each section. The installation was fairly easy as well. I placed it on at 18' total from the ground but secured to my roof in an area that i could easily adjust the direction I could point toward a station "group". It performed a bit less than expected as compared to the smaller unit i previously had been using. I installed a 15dB before a 2 port splitter and found this antenna to perform a "bit" better than the smaller antenna. I feel the only advantage is that this antenna can be pointed within a 60 degree "focal" point of a "group" of stations and all of theses stations have excellent reception. I found several helpful tips @ WWW.TVfool.com. Overall I am satisfied and will continue to learn as i go to increase my knowledge of what is effective to receive strong signals by using the appropriate equipment.Read full review

If you want free tv, and don’t have a clue what your doing, don’t waist money on those other small antennas, for the money this one is fantastic, I live about 65/70 miles from my local stations , this baby brings most of them in with a very strong signal,,, I have only one complaint,, it doesn’t get my channel 2 ,, me tv ... it’s vhf 11... and this doesn’t pick it up at all...it has no high vhf capacity.... it gets low vhf, and low uhf... very well... over all I’m happy with it.. I will be adding another small antenna to the mix however to get my me tv fix... the small ge Lowe’s bought antenna I had got me tv fine.... and several other channels... but at night... it lost all but one channel... this one keeps a strong signal on all stations it gets..49 in total,, all day and night long...locked.... so pick this up with a pole mounted booster... get ya some cheap emt pipe to mount it up high .. and your in businessRead full review

I had not tried any of the newer antennas since I still have many of the great antennas from Channel Master,Antennacraft,Finco in service. I decided that the price was right on this one for around $35 bucks. It's assembly was not fun with very sharp stamped aluminum directors that will cut you in a microsecond but I put it together and tried it out against a newer 4228 CM and it performs at least equal to it for a third of the cost. This is a great Attic antenna but it won't last long out in the harsh elements. For the price I wouldn't hesitate to try it out if you have no antenna up you would be surprised at what this little thing can do and if your reception is great with it then consider buying a heavy duty built corner reflector yagi to put up or even buying two so you will have a backup. Overall its a good value if they keep the price under $50 it's a winner. Don't overtigten the hardware that comes with it and consider adding some stainless steel hose clamps and a few screws of your own before you put it up.Read full review
