I may not be a follower of the Norse Gods but Conway's look into Northern Culture and Myth/Magic is a must read for those studying Nordic history and Vikings. Whether your spirit is attracted to Northerness (like C.S Lewis once was) or not you'll find something to enjoy out of this book.

The book is very well written, the facts are straight and the mythology is accurate. The problem is it is written from a Wiccan/ Celtic perspective instead of the traditional Norse perspective. The rituals were in the same format as the ones in her other book, Celtic Magic except the deity names were changed. This would be fine if it was written for other branches of Wicca or the Celtic faith but Norse is vastly different. The book is good for beginners wanting a background and some basic ideas but for more traditional or advanced practitioners the book can be a bit frustrating.
This book is good overall but only for small tidbits of information. I'm glad to own it though!
