I am satisfied with the product, but be aware that it may malfunction. The one I received came in a sealed package, but when I installed it and tried to use it I found that the LCD only lights up but does not display any text. The sound worked ok and it seamed to function properly though. Luckily I managed to fix this issue myself easily. It is easy to open the box - only 4 cross screws, and I saw that the LCD is connected to the main board using a simple pressure connector, that was loose. I pushed it in properly and it came back to life. I am afraid that the probability for such a malfunction when the device is shipped internationally is not negligible because the way it is built.

This radar detector has excellent specs and was rated #3 in performance only to $300 plus models in 2013. The qualities built in make it an excellent purchase on EBay for most of the time under $100 for a nice used one. There are plenty of videos and tech boards out there to back up my claims along with side by side comparisons on specialty sites also. I would recommend this to compare against any current radar detector in the $250 and below range and see for yourself. I do a lot of traveling and this radar detector will keep you safe as long as you are keeping your speed within 10 mph of the posted limits and remaining aware of your surroundings. It will provide you with ample warning to brake before you get tagged in the killzone. The only ehancement added to newer models is GPS for tagging known and posted camera systems in metro areas. I've owned the XTR-695 for 2 years, used it with my car and motorcycle. Got the same one for my parents, and haven't had a speeding ticket since. The color-coding of the different bands really comes in handy because the text alone can be hard to read in certain light conditions, especially on a bike. The LED periscopes are also great for the same reason. If there's a cop around, you will know. Compared to any of the lower-end Cobras, the XTR-695 picks up a signal from a much greater distance, giving you plenty of awareness time. It also has well-known radar frequencies pre-programmed in it, and it displays the actual frequency instead of just "K-band" or "Ka-band", reducing the chance of a false alarm even further. I have no complaints about this radar whatsoever.Read full review
I use it for 3wks now and like it for price i paid. it's not high price radar detector i really want to but work like one. (my friend has 9500ix and we put together to compare it) it detect almost same as 9500ix but here is 2 cons. 1.poor display during daylight 2.too much false alarm. but i already knew it befor i get it. and you can adjust some false signals by set filter and city mode.
