I was skeptical at first about buying such an inexpensive item, but after reading some other reviews, I took the plunge. Glad I did. This is exactly what I needed. I have a Casio divers watch that I couldn't open otherwise. I had the back off in less than a minute after receiving this device. It's built better than I would have expected, however, you do need to be mindful when using it as it can slip. Double-check the alignment of the teeth on the groves of the back of the watch making sure they are as tight as you can make them. Use deliberate but steady force and it should work. Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone who needs an inexpensive solution to opening their watch. I still have to purchase the battery, but my guess is that this tool is less than the cost of the battery -- certainly less than the cost of having someone else do it.Read full review

This tool is ok, but not great. If you have an older watch, it can be very difficult to open the back. I'd probably get the wrench style tool instead, this one is a bit cheap.

This item opens large through small watch cases. Your jeweler probably doesn't use this. Your jewler probably uses one of hose adjustable 3 spike wrenches to open watches. What a joke! The Crab tool is the best way to open a watch case. It is the easied, most clever way to open a watch without scratching the back case cover. And this item is actually made real strong. Buy it and change watch batteries yourself.
