First I bought an other book about vintage jewelry on eBay, " costume jewelry 202 by Julia Carroll" and that book was so good and interesting and helped me so much to date and price my collection, that I wanted an other one and bought the" Warman's Vintage jewelry". Which was very good priced and absolutely worth the money but for me was not as good and helpful as the first one I bought. Still, it is a great book and the pictures are beautiful and a lovely guide as to what is around. I am very happy with it and as a matter of fact so happy that I ordered an other book of the same subject from eBay recently but did not yet receive it so cannot give my opinion. I say one thing though,LONG LIVE EBAY, a great source to find what thrills you.
This book arrived in great shape and had excellent pictures of the jewelry to be able to identify it easily. The only thing I could find fault with is that the jewelry seemed to be older costume jewelry and I was looking more for items in the 40's, 50's and/or 60's era. I still found it informative and fun to look at and was not disappointed in the least!

This is a GREAT reference book! The color photos are FABULOUS! The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is because it has been most helpful to me only as far as identifying & pricing antique bracelets is concerned. It's not so much help with any of the other jewelry categories it covers with respect to my personal collection. This book has a HUGE section on Brooches & Pins and Clips. If that's what you're most interested in (which I'm not), then this is the book for you.
This book deals almost exclusively with Rhinestone Jewelry. The pictures are very good and showy and if you are looking to research your rhinestone jewelry this may be for you. I was personally very disappointed because I do not collect rhinestone jewelry so it was zero help for me. I will keep the book, thought, because I may run across a piece and it is a nice resource to have if I need it.
The book has good pics. But no actual descriptions of the pictured pieces. Writer does not get into history, name, markings, etc., with the pictures. I would not recommend to a beginner or a seasoned collector. I did enjoy the pics but that was it.
