This is a wonderful walking CD and perfect for someone like me who really hates aerobic exercise and can find a million excuses not to take that first step. The minute I press the "play" button on my CD player and hear that incredible rhythmic music coming through my earphones, I am instantly inspired to start walking. Debbie's coaching is so motivating--she keeps me going. I read one review in which the writer stated that she didn't think this walk was as intense as Leslie Sansom's routines and she thought Debbie's voice was monotone. I have several of Leslie's DVDs and I don't understand how anyone could make such a statement. When I decided to take up walking as my exercise of choice, I started with Leslie Sansom, among others and none are as motivating as Debbie Rocker's 50 minute CD. Although I think Leslie Sansom is a sweet person, but I nearly go insane with her silly chatter and fake laughing. Debbie is serious and to the point and has a very soothing voice. The interval walking has done wonders to improve my stamina. She takes me to the edge and just when I think I can't go any further, she coaches me to a relief level. I am 72 with borderline asthma and arthritis in my back, feet and knees, but Debbie's coaching keeps my mind focussed on the parts of my body that get me through this workout. Each time I complete the workout, I feel great and very accomplished. My stamina has improved so much and keeps getting better each time I take that walk. I like to do the long workout 3 or 4 times a week and do the short "indoor/stationary" workout when I don't have a lot of time. The weather this spring has been so rainy I have been doing the 50 min. road walk in the halls of my apartment building and I really enjoy because, even though I miss being outside with nature, I get to walk on a very even surface and with loads of privacy. I have lost weight and, if I were seriously dieting, I would have lost more by now. I am insulin resistant, so weight loss for me is very difficult at my age. I do wish Debbie had included a better cool down with more stretching; however, I have exercised for many years and in so many different genres that I just complement this workout with yoga and Qigong stretch that I am very familiar with. This is a wonderful weight loss walking workout I wish she had another one available.Read full review

I wouldn't call this a true "walking" tape because there is alot of "jogging" included. I do like the change from normal walking routines and it's probably a better work out for it. No weights are incorporated into the workout but could easily be added. Overall I like Debbie Rocker's style and would recommend this workout.
I found this to be a great workout. I have only done the 30-minute segment, but I found her coaching to be helpful. Just when I thought I couldn't do much more, we were "walking it out" Nice change of pace from Leslie Sansone (who I LOVE) Would recommend.
This work-out definitely works your muscles, and makes you break a sweat. After my first (full) workout I could hardly sit down my muscles were so sore. She does incorporate a lot of squats and lunges into her walking routine. Thus my sore muscles. Enjoy!
We found it a bit advanced for our age . We are older people with illnesses and need to begin at a slower pace. 10 years ago it would have been just right for us . However that is our personal conditions , still it is most helpful for us .
