The first thing about the WEN 3962 band saw: to change speeds you must loosen the motor from its mount and change a drive belt to another set of pulleys. For me, this is fine, but if you intend to change speeds frequently, there's no switch/lever you just flip. Having said that, this is an impressive machine. The overall quality is better than my modest expectations. Assembly is fairly easy and straight-forward, and all necessary parts and tools are included - even a wrench. It was up and running in less than an hour. As delivered, you only assemble the base, attach it to the machine, and attach the plate and slider-bar. Mine needed no adjustment. For a smaller, floor-standing machine, it has features I didn't expect, like roller-bearing blade guides, large cutting clearance, and a goose-neck work light that's really bright. For the price, this machine is impressive.Read full review

I really like this Bandsaw, just about all setup and ready to go out of the box, two speeds for flexibility and it comes with a 3/8's blade to get you started. Now the Cons, the Light is so flexible that it will not stay in place and it's mounted in the wrong spot, the Fence locks in place at one end and is hard to set in place, it should lock in at both ends and the mount for the fence has to come off to replace the blade each time so forget 0'ing it out. That said I like Wen, I just wish they had gone the extra inch with this bandsaw. Drifter

I am quite pleased with this saw. I was close to giving it 5 stars except for a couple of things. The fence is a waste - pretty worthless. I'm hoping I can mount my Kreg fence to it but that's my other concern - the minimal table. It's pretty thin and may not work to mount a nice fence. We'll see. But overall it's well built, cuts nicely, easy to adjust.

I have limited space for a bandsaw, so I can't use a full-size (14 inch or larger) saw. I've had a 3-wheel 12-inch benchtop saw for years, but it never seemed to really work well. Tracking was difficult to adjust, and I could never depend on the saw when I really needed it. I finally decided to buy the Wen saw after reading lots of online reviews. I'm thoroughly pleased with the saw. Is it as good as a 14" Delta or Delta clone? I'm sure it's not. It's not as rigid. It's not as robust. It's not as powerful. It's also not as big, so it fits in my small space. I've used the saw to do some resawing of 2x4's for making toys. It worked sufficiently well. The cut surface was not as smooth as I would have liked, but I think that may be due to a low-quality saw blade. I have a better one on order. The guide fence is accurate and easy to set. I'm really pleased with it. The biggest weakness I've found so far is that the blade guides are difficult to adjust. The bearing shafts must be loosened, then mechanically slid into place, then tightened. There is no fine adjustment. This makes it very hard to get clearance of about .005 inches, which is what I'd like to do. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase.Read full review

The saw has sufficient power, tracks well and runs very smooth. The one fault that I have found so far is the fence. I use the saw a lot for resawing and the fence does not hold the board perpendicular to the table. I will have to modify it to make it usable.
