Pros: •Optics are very crisp. •Scope is not too heavy. •Nice neoprene bag for scope. •Great adjustable eye relief, even for someone with glasses. •Smooth and responsive corse and fine adjustment knob of picture. •Price was fair. •Textured rubber armor on the outside of the spotting scope body. Cons: •Neoprene cover for spotting scope is a bit tough to get on and off. •Zoom on spotting scope only goes to 45x. •Only two eyepieces available for this spotting scope by Vortex. •No other eyepieces or adaptors from others companies.

I am thrilled with my new Vortex Viper HD (15-45 x 65), it has amazing clarity and is easy to focus. The angled eye piece is a must. I have a larger Swarovski with a straight eye piece and this is much more flexible and nimble. This vortex is awesome and I am going to look into the rest of their optics. Finding a very stable, compact, lightweight tripod for it maybe the greater challenge.

Purchased for glassing/hunting. Great product for the money, and top notch warranty. Glass compares to some of the more expensive brands. Comes with nice soft cover. Impressed w/ the low light clarity. Definitely needs a weighted or heavy ( 3lbs with head) tripod for stability at @ 1/2 power. Pairs well with vortex summit xlt tripod. Scope is also great for target shooting at 1000 meters+
It works great, Glass is crystal clear. The case is hard to get on and not sure it won't get in the way on the range?
