Brandon "Bam" Margera lives in West Chester, Pennsylvania with his typical suburban soccer mother, April, and his morbidly obese father, Phil. Down the street lives Phil's equally elephantine brother, Vincent, whom the family lovingly refers to as Don Vito. Bam hangs with his crew, a gaggle of goofballs with names like Raab Himself, Rake Yorn, Brandon DiCamillo, and Ryan Dunn. These friends enjoy rock and roll, skateboarding, and pulling pranks on each other. Along with buddies Tim Glomb (an ersatz Mr. Fix-It / Make-It) and crazy Compton Ass Terry (straight from the hood and into the skate park), they form a conglomeration of deconstructionists bent on breaking all the rules and loving every minute of it. There are eight episodes of the show, representing the entire first season. The set claims that these installments of the series are "uncensored" and for the most part, they are. Cursing is left intact (with just a little pointless bleeping, for some strange reason), but any blurring originally done for sexual, controversial, commercial, or grotesque content is still present here. If you're interested in what's going on behind those pixelated portions, it will still be a mystery once you've watched the DVDs. Individually, each episode is divided up into a main storyline, accented with various skits and individual stunts. Here is what you'll see: • "Episode 1: Phil's Hell Day / Bam's Skate Park" Bam decides to make Phil's day a living hell. The kid tries several things to make his dad angry, including ironing hamburger patches on all his clothes and demolishing his beloved van. When that doesn't work, Bam converts the entire house into an indoor/outdoor skate park. • "Episode 2: Don't Feed Phil" Hoping to cure his father of his overeating, Bam organizes a countrywide ban on feeding his father. Everyone is in on the act: restaurants, radio stations, even friends and neighbors…everyone, that is, except fellow fatty Don Vito. • "Episode 3: Family Reunion" Bam turns his home into a castle in preparation for the Margera family reunion. Complete with a drawbridge and a moat, his medieval theme impresses everyone—except Bam's bizarre grandmother. • "Episode 4: Viva Las Vegas" Bam sets up his friend Raab with a Russian mail-order bride, and can think of only one place for the ceremony—Sin City! He also brings his mom and dad along so they can renew their vows. • "Episode 5: Paint Phil Blue and Other Stories" With Mom and Dad away, Bam will definitely play. He and the crew dig a tunnel to Don Vito's house, convert April's car into a pimped-out dragster, and even paint Bam's entire kitchen blue. • "Episode 6: Very Merry Margera Christmas" 'Tis the season to be crazy as Bam and the gang goof on Christmas. They decorate the Margera home with millions of lights, chart snow onto the lawn, and even turn the entire house into an indoor skating rink…ice skating, that is. • "Episode 7: April's Revenge" Bam plans on leaving his parents in a local lake's atoll for 24 hours. But April pulls the prank on him instead. Alone with his crew within shouting distance of Three Mile Island, Bam plots his revenge. • "Episode 8: Scavenger Hunt" It's four ferocious teams running ragged across West Chester in a battle for scavenger hunt supremacy. The prize? A chance to destroy April's piano.Read full review
Viva la Bam has become my favorite series & I've watched several of the seasons over. If you like shows like CKY & Jackass, then this is a good show for you! The 1st season includes some of Bam's daily activities like a scavenger hunt & building a skatepark inside the Margera home. This is a great season that leads into several more!
I remember watching this show as a teenager and I had the biggest crush on Bam. I will treasure these now that Ryan Dunn is gone. Great to add these to my collection.
