I purchased this soundbar to use for gaming, to accompany a 43 inch monitor. I picked it by the usual algorithm of reviews vs price. So far I am fairly satisfied, though I consider it a little peculiar in some respects. First the gripes... The biggest complaint I have is AC hum. The soundbar (not so much the woofer) seems always to have a 60 Hz background hum. I have tried various sources, have fed same sources into other speakers, and I am pretty sure the hum is in the Vizio and not in my source. The second biggest complaint is the remote, which is labelled in very thin gray silkscreen on black; I guess it seemed very kewl and elegant to the designer, but it's darned hard to read in a darkened room. The third issue is not uncommon these days, but still a bit irritating; several user settings are accessible only by the good ol' "hold down button A and button B simultaneously for 5 seconds, wait until the light blinks then..." method. The buttons are on the soundbar unit itself, and of course they are labelled in faint gray on black so you need daylight or a flashlight to be sure of pressing the right ones. The most annoying default feature that needs to be disabled is the "power saving" auto-power-off. I was quite puzzled at first when the unit kept turning itself off after 30 minutes :-) Googling quickly revealed that other people had the same complaint, and a re-read of the manual revealed that this feature could be turned off by holding button A and button B down simultaneously, watching LEDs blink, etc. The LED response was confusing (not quite as described) but I think I did eventually get this irritating feature turned off. The unit appears able only to recognise music or dialogue (signal with fairly lively envelope and large amplitude) as valid audio input, not the low-level ambient sounds of the simulator I'm running; so after 30 minutes of road noise, birds tweeting, wind etc it decided there was no signal and went to sleep. Having said all this, I'm still fairly pleased with my purchase. I only said "not well designed" because of the above issues; aesthetically it's just fine, quite attractive. The sound quality is decent for the price, the bluetooth woofer is convenient (put it anywhere, no wires), and the packaging is ideal for a gaming system. It wasn't too expensive and I think it will be quite adequate for my gaming system -- definitely a step above most mid-market 3-channel "computer speakers". I confess I am just a little sceptical of the fancy BT woofer, wondering how long the tx/rx will hold up (copper wire lasts a long time and seldom gets flaky). Only time will tell.Read full review

Second Vizio sound bar I've used. It's larger brother is attached to my 58" Smart TV which sounds great. I purchased this on my previous experience. Same quality construction and ease of use. This (however) was purchased as a stand-alone, being attached to a computer. As a stand alone it lacks mid-range definition - almost to the point of loosing voices. I could get close by dialing down both the base and treble but then ..... As a supplement to a TV it works great; where the TV's speakers supply the midrange and the bar handles the highs and lows. I've now got it attached to a 32" upstairs and fills a 12x12' room. Attached to a computer: 3 Stars Attached to a TV: 4.5 Stars

Very Happy with it, definitely delivers lots of sound for the money, for me at least the set up was not self explanatory, so I did have to call in for help, but only took a few minutes. Wish I had bought this sooner. Also, makes a great blue tooth stereo for playlist on phone, I may get an extra one for the other room just for that purpose.

I tried this in my house along with a Zvox 330 sound base and a Bose Solo 5. I kept this Vizio and returned the other two. Not high end but for the price a good choice for use with a secondary tv.

I have a Vizio TV so the Vizio Soundbar and Bass automatically hooked up with the TV and input. It also hooked up automatically with the cable remote. I can turn the TV and Soundbar on and off together with the one button. Volume automatically hooked up too. Couldn't be easier. Sound quality is great. I would recommend this to customers.
