Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Magnetic Holders
I own more than a dozen magnetic indicator bases spread out all over the shop but I can always use more. I have Starrett, B&S, DoALL, Mitutoyo and other Japanese brands plus many generic (Chinese) ones. The brand name bases are obviously of better quality (fit, finish and materials) but the Chinese generic ones are fine and seem to have stronger magnets. The Universal 3D Deluxe bases have even stronger magnets than my other generic bases. The only drawback to these Universal 3D Deluxe bases appears to be the top thread is weak due to material and depth. The threads on the top post are excellent. It's the base threads that are weak. I cold tell when tightening down the post that there was a point where the threads appeared ready to fail (softness). I removed the post and examined the base threads and found them stretched. I reinstalled the post and only snugged it up. It is working fine and is one of my favorite bases due to its small to medium size, very strong magnet and strong attachment accessories. The top post is holding fine with no give. I liked it so much that I bought more. You cannot beat this price point for such a workable base. I use them for workholding, coolant and cable routing and other standard and non-standard uses. I can highly recommend these for light to medium use. The only caveat being not to over-tighten the top post. Overall, an excellent buy.Read full review

This claims a 130lb holding force when it pales in terms of magnetic strength against a 45lb holding force magnet I have had for 3 years. The switch is terribly unreliable, it takes too much force on cheap shakey plastic to hope it finds that sweet spot that holds the magnet on. The on/off sticker peeled off coming out of the box because the adhesive couldn't match the oil it was covered in right out of production. Good to throw through the manufacturer's window at best.

Given the low cost, this is a surprisingly well made product. It does virtually the same thing that is expected of better known brands, some costing 15 times as much. The fit and finish is good, and the device performs as intended. A good value for anyone looking for a dial test indicator base.

I got this knowing it wasn't Starrett, but it was so much cheaper. It does a good job, but is noticeably less stable when the dial is all the way out on the arm. I would not want to rely on it being very precise at full extension, but for quick checks it is fine. Everything works well and it does include the "fine adjustment elbow", which is OK but may introduce more error than it makes up for in convenience. Overall a good value.

It’s good for simple indicating like vices or jaws. But just a little flimsy. And the magnets could be stronger. But hey for the price it’s a good buy. Oh and shipping was fast.
