One of the best things about 'Under Siege 2' is that virtually all of the tough acting required to establish his character was completed by Seagal in 'Under Siege 1'. In '2', the only seriously awkward acting moments, those between Ryback and his niece, are brief and to the point (what we call 'too dead on'), and assume the audience already knows who Ryback 'really is'. The rest of the film is devoted to constructing a semi-believable plot and action. On Blu-Ray, the most outstanding visual highs and lows both involve CG: most of the film's moving train interiors were actually shot on a stage using a new system that actually worked remarkably well; other CG involving hanging off a cliff and off a helicopter are far worse on Blu-Ray, since the flawed traveling mattes are very visible. If you're a Seagal fan, this film kind of marks the demarcation line between the gritty, lean Seagal with amazing aikido moves and the hefty, meditative Seagal who no longer performed running or jumping stunts. It's the last film of his I could recommend.Read full review
