I do a lot of selling on eBay and the process of taking pictures, then connecting my camera to my laptop with the USB cable, and transferring the photos from one device to the other was really slowing me down. Now I take the photos and by the time I put the camera down and walk over to my laptop, the photos are already waiting there to be posted. Reviews of the 3rd generation of this product stated that it had "pass through" capability. So you could wirelessly transfer photos from your camera to your computer and then hop right on eBay or Facebook and begin posting. I'm not seeing that. I find that I still have to select the Flashair network to transfer photos and then select my house wireless network to access the internet. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong but this is still WAY faster than the USB cable!Read full review

I originally ordered "generic" WiFi SD card on eBay and it would not work properly with either of my two SD-capable cameras. One camera refused to see it as a memory card and the second camera crashed repeatedly while trying to use the device. I returned it for a refund. I then bought an EZ Share card. It worked, but the interface seemed "clunky" and it didn't transfer file automatically (even though that is supposed to be a feature). This card seem to have better software and works more like I expected. The downside is that the other two cards "adapted" a micro-SD card so that you could have multiple micro-SD cards and swap them out. This is a dedicated 16GB card that fills up and you need to transfer the pictures out and delete them to make room. Nonetheless, this is my favorite card out of the three.Read full review

For what I want it to do, this works beautifully. SD card function works flawlessly in my Canon 500D. With it, I can browse the card from my iPad or Galaxy S5 and save only the pictures I want to save to the device. Unlike the Apple dongle that takes _forever_ to load thumbnails, browsing pics via WiFi on the FlashAir is quick and easy. Range is about 35 feet indoors. Pass-through mode lets you connect FlashAir to WiFi so your device can simultaneously access photos on your card and surf the Internet. As you would expect, it will drain battery life, but only slightly unless you use it for a prolonged session. Transfers JPEGs not RAW, but that's not a deal breaker for me. You do have to tell your device to connect to the FlashAir and you may need to reconnect occasionally depending on your camera's power-down timer. FlashAir has to compete with all the WiFi signals that are nearby, so you may have to be patient connecting to the card - restarting the camera and forcing your device to look for new signals will solve any connect issues. Instructions are skeletal at best, but there's plenty of YouTube tutorials out there that are easy to follow. When it's working as advertised, it is nothing short of amazing.Read full review
