Overall, this DVD is worth watching, if you can get it for a good price like I did. If you're looking for an actual surf DVD, stick to videos of competitions, or other mainstream DVDs and videos. This is a documentary of some of the worlds best surfers finding previously unknown spots off of a few islands of Fiji. There's a lot of footage about the local culture and people, which is cool, but it's not surfing. There's a lot of footage about living on the boat for a while, interviews, and other stuff like that. When they are actually surfing though, the waves are spectacular, and of course, the talent and level of surfing they are displaying is nothing but amazing. In my opinion, there is enough footage of actual surfing to make it worth the $4.00 I paid for it, but I'm glad I didn't pay more for it. There are not a lot of extra features on this DVD. Included extras are a photo gallery that I didn't sit through, and a trailer for this DVD, which seems a little redundant to me. You can also skip to a specific chapter, but there are no options of playing surfing only. If you want some great surfing DVDs of Fiji, I highly recommend the Globe WCT Fiji series. So far, I have only seen the 2005 competition DVD (To my understanding, this was the first year Fiji was added as a stop on the WCT tour. The DVD was included as a free bonus in the Nov. 2005 issue of Transworld Surf. It was very entertaining, featured amazing waves and talent, and had one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard in a DVD, making it my favorite so far.) I will soon be buying any other WCT Fiji DVD that I can find.Read full review
