One of my favorie Scotty's of all time. Face-balanced so real easy to make a square stroke. Almost putts itself. Hard to locate ones that aren't a bit worn. Have to be diligent with the oil rag to stave off oxidation. Worth the effort though as it is a great looking flat stick.... Decided to buy one (okay, have actually bought two Catalinas off eBay at this point 'cause I like them so much) as I foolishly traded away my original. Ball sounds a bit different coming off the clubhead than some of the other Scotty's but your hands tell you when you have put a good stroke on it. Likewise, the Catalina tells you when you haven't put a good stroke on it...
Catalina Classics have the best of mallets and the best of blades type putter desings.. They have the face balanced feature that the mallet putters are loved for and design of putter heads are just like good old blade types that are loved by all eyes.. They are forgiving, straight and control of distance is of course the best at work! Best putter design Scotty Cameron ever created!!
I have tried all the Cameron Models - but the Catalina ia my favorite - I like the face balance for a straight back and through stoke - I also like the way it sets up to the ball - all of Scotty's putter are great - so it is hard to go wrong with a Cameron - give the Catalina a try - if you like face balanced putters - the Cat is a hard one to beat - now if only Scotty would make a 350 gram 303 Stainless Steel production model Catalina that listed for $279 I would be in Heaven
A classic Cameron Putter, what more can you say !!! A great addition to any Cameron collector's putter collection. It fits in with my other Cameron putters.
All the good things about Cameron putters, feel, looks, balance. A harder Cameron to find especially in good shape. I can't say it's a great putter though.
