Very nice looking trigger. Well made. Easy to install with a little work using 2 pins on my action (there are several good videos online), but it was not a drop in fit in my wood 700 Classic stock. I had to file away wood on the sides to fit it in. Filing the wood was easy, but doing that without marring any of the visible surface wood around the trigger guard took some care. I wanted 3 lb pull for hunting and it came in right at a consistent 3 lb. I had set my factory Remington trigger to a crisp 3.3 lb and it will take some time for me to decide if this is really any better, but it is SAFER! I love the Timney trigger stop safety. 3.3 lb was at the edge of what I could set the Remington trigger to and in one of my multiple safety tests of pulling it hard with the safety on, It did fire on safety release. That plus the Remington trigger recall information convinced me to install a Timney.Read full review

I put the Timney trigger on a Remington 700 that was manufactured in 2001. That era of Remington 700 had the j-lock bolt. Even with the adjustability of the factory trigger I could never get all of the creep out.. To get the trigger pull as light as I wanted with the factory trigger left the rifle not cocking consistently. I had purchased the rifle used several years ago but never had done much with it. When I called Remington to find out the details of the rifle they told me it was a KS mountain rifle. In other words this was a great rifle with the Kevlar McMillan stock and a stainless barreled action in 280 Remington - it just needed surgery. I went on YouTube and watched a couple videos on how to change out the trigger - very straightforward- two pins hold it in. The Timney trigger is awesome- super easy to adjust (I took it to 2.5 pounds) and glass snapping crisp. You can tell by looking at the trigger it is top quality. I went with the thin version out of personal choice - I like skinny triggers. I'm going to have fun working up a load for elk this fall. Buy one with confidence!Read full review

This is THE trigger that should be on Remington 700's from the factory. Considering all the problems the manufacturer is having with these rifles, installing Timneys at the factory sounds like a good idea to me. I have installed three of them on my rifles and they are terrific. I am a satisfied customer that will purchase more Timney Triggers in the future and will also recommend to my friends and associates.

The trigger itself installed in minutes, with a punch, hammer, and pair of pliers. The only difficult part was removing some material from the inside (non-visible) of the trigger slot in the bottom metal. Basically the safety was rubbing on the bottom and not operating smoothly. A couple minutes and a couple of light passes with a dremel and it was functioning flawlessly.

This is a nice trigger replacement for Remington models 700 & 721. It can be adjusted to crisp clean break with light or heavy pull. Solid construction. The adjustment instructions are basic and do not provide details on adjusting the sear engagement. Directions can be found on the timney website but the picture is out of date for the 510 model. A more clear and detailed adjustment schematic is needed for this trigger. The trigger is easily disassembled. The safety lever needs to be bent approximately 1/16 inch away from the trigger body in order to fit the rem 721. The 721 stock will also need to be slightly carved out in the safety lever area to allow free travel. Overall the value to price is high compared to what is available on the market for replacement triggers.
