This is a review for the Maxi-Single of the lead single of Usher's debut album. Why the impact of "Think of You" isn't as big as his later hits, "Think of You" was a big hit and was the start of something BIG. The track features production from Puffy and Chucky Thompson. It's a laidback mid-tempo Hip-Hop influenced R-N-B cut about love. The real attraction to any CD single of course is the non-album stuff...so here we go. The So So Def Remix (track 2) of course is remixed by the legendary Jermain Dupri (who has gone on to do many of Usher's more current hits). The funky take on the song is in the same vibe of most of So So Def's mid-tempo stuff at the time. Just good music to ride to, featuring a vocal clip from Craig Mack's "Flava In Ya Ear." The So So Def Extended Mix (track 3) is just a longer version of the So So Def Remix...milking the remix in all it's glory. The Album Instrumental (track 4) is self-explanitory. It'll make you really miss the mid-90's R-N-B sound. The Bad Boy Remix (track 5) isn't better than the original version, but an interesting take on the track nonetheless. The hook is slightly reworked and classic Hip-Hop samples are laced in the production. Any Usher fan who appricates remixes and hearing good music in a different light will like now-rare tracks this single has 2 offer.Read full review
