It's really a nice version of the thing for once we get to actually see what the thing looks like in color but,.. my only complaint is that half a scene is missing from this version. Which is truly the company's fault in doing so when they recorded this version.. and it's the scene that follows after they brought the thing back on ice and the captain set up the watch hours for guarding the thing.. there's a scene that follows that when the captain is in the cruise bunk room and he's shining his shoes and talking with his co-pilot that's lying down on the bunk talking about how the scientists are acting like school kids fussing over a new fire engine well that scene is completely missing and it jumps all the way to the scene that follows that when one of his crewmen comes in and speaks with the captain in regards to shortening the guard hours over the thing because his first guard is really getting nervous about being alone with that thing on ice. If anyone has a copy of it on DVD they will know the same I am talking about.. other than that it's a great colorized version just wished they would have come out with that on DVD it would be a whole lot better especially if it were Blu-rayRead full review

The Thing is a 50's ovie that will STILL scare the pants ff you! Turn down the lights and let the movie sweep you into a mititary base that is overcome by a HUGR "THING", James Arness. The music alone is perfect and the script and acting are wonderful. Remember, Channel 9's "Million Dollar Movie"? Well, get the popcorn and snuggle on the couch with your best girl and dog, and all three of you wikk be putting your hands over your eyes. ENJOY! jamerman12
