The lyrics and vocals really drive this band, as Matt Young really knows how to mix pleading intensity with melodic range. In the background is a mix of fast guitar riffage and mellow driving drumming. It's definitely got a dose of alkaline trio, and seems alot like matchbook romance in its approach. But while matchbook drowns you in emotional-crunch, Amber Pacific kind of leaves on a good note- sort of like watching a sunrise. The truly impressive achievement is the mixture this band has between romantic, teeny-bopper pang in a true Yellowcard style- and a patience and build which really keeps the emotion going. Not particularly complicated, but if you have ever felt truly confused, like you were about to cry for no reason or just generally felt really, really angsty-- this is without a doubt the band for you.Read full review
