God, says Walsch, has told him that man’s goal on earth is to remember who he is, was and always will be - God. Walsch sometimes teaches the concept of Pantheism, that all is God and God is all and sometimes Panentheism, that God is in process of becoming, gaining in knowledge and dominion. He says “You are God, you simply do not know it.” The Bible clearly states that God created us, but we are not God. Mr. Walsch also promotes aspects of Taoism’s concept of yin-yang; Buddhism’s renunciation life, magic or witchcraft, reincarnation, and the existence of extra-terrestrial. He says that Jesus was not perfect. He does not believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. He claims God doesn’t care what we do. (If I care very much that you want to kill me, believe me, God will judge you if you kill or hurt me, or molest a child, or rape someone, or steal or lie.) He claims that God will not judge us and will not punish the wicked. HE SAYS EVERYONE GOES TO HEAVEN NO MATTER HOW EVIL, EVEN HITLER!!!! Typical of New Age teachings, Walsch frequently twist Scripture (which he says can’t be trusted in the first place, to make it fit his own concepts. He talks about love with “love” remaining somewhat amorphous. Walsch describes love as the “purest joy and the highest ecstasy” which is found in giving and receiving sex, which he advises us to experience indiscriminately. He claims to know what to do, just trust your feelings. Well, thousands of people have trusted their feelings to murder, steal, and hurt others. I wonder what he thinks about that. I give it a poor rating.Read full review
This book came into my awareness while I was on the path of ~Forgiveness~ I am trying to let go of old hurts and past wounds, but for some reason certain events and people just keep replaying in my mind over & over. Reading The Little Soul and The Sun has given me a new insight & shed new light on issues I have seen in my life as being wrong and hurtful. This book is for EVERYBODY! Not just for the ones looking to 'let go' but for our children as well. Maybe in reading this story our children will not even bother to second guess old hurts, seeing them as just a part & parcel of being a human, and move on. The art in this book is bright and colorful and wonderful to look at, and is almost as good as the story itself. I HIGHLY recommend adding this book to your library today.
I very much enjoyed the Conversations With God series that Walsch wrote. They were for adults and entertained a lot of ideas surrounding Love, Forgiveness, and Why We're Here. I found out that he wrote this children's book and I purchased it because it was highly recommended by Linda Baker in one of her books on Past Life Regression. The Little Soul and the Sun was a very good book to introduce the concepts of the metaphysical - what our purpose is here on Earth, that we are loved and protected by God, etc. It is not the Biblical God of fire and brimstone. Where I truly enjoyed the story I must say I did not care for the illustrations, my taste is a little different. Overall it was a good book and I would recommend it for all ages.

As a therapist, I have recommended this book for my adult patients that are having lasting difficulty (particularly in family relationships). I give away these books to help mend relationships or just "free" the patient from having that difficult bond.
