I enjoyed this movie. Green and John Vought are some of my favorites. Great actors. While educating on the life and times of our Native American brothers and sisters, I can't help but feel a deep sadness and shame of the treatment and trials endured from others. However there has never been another people who have protect our lands and loved nature as much. Buy the movie, it is one of those that you can watch over and over again.
Everyone needs to watch this movie it is relevant today it shows how much we are alike as humans and the beauty in everyone no matter there color or religion and how much we can learn from each other this is one of Graham Greene's best movies except maybe thunderheart Jon Voight. was really good to thanks

Though the movie was entertaining, I would suggest reading the book 'ISHI THE LAST OF HIS TRIBE ' and 'ISHI IN TWO WORLDS ' both by Theodora Kroeber. The first detailing much of how he and his family lived day to day, and the second book recounts his days after walking into the world of the 'Saldu'(whiteman) that day in 1911.

I had just finished the book: Ishi, The Last of His Tribe, so of course there was comparison. The book goes into more of the emotional detail and factual events than the movie, and the movie cuts to the chase on events but stays true to the story. The movie has some graphic scenes (autopsies, scalping). Graham Greene is great as Ishi and it is an interesting story. Good historical piece. I would recommend both the book and movie.
Not sure how historically correct it is, but it is entertaining and emotional.
