This book has some really cute history in it about little kids who in the 1920’s sold magazine subsections for 35 cents a year to compete for a Shetland pony, new cart, harness, saddle and bridle. A woman quilter matched quilt blocks with each child’s story about the pony that he or she won. The letters from the kids are very cute and interesting along with the info on the quilt blocks. Loved this book ❤️. The book was brand new, a great price and really is great reading for quilters, horse people or those who love kids!

I am a quilter and a big fan of Laurie Aaron Hird.! I am also a horse owner so this book touches me that way as well. I love to see the letters and photos from that time period. I Love the fact that you can rotary cut the blocks or paper piece. The only suggestion would be to have a digital download available for those that no longer have a cd rom drive on their laptops. (Luckily my husband has an older computer and was able to download the cd to his and transfer to a thumb drive.) Thank You Laurie for a wonderful book!

Charming book combining history of which I had no previous knowledge with my (and my mother’s) favorite hobby! So, so happy with my purchase, and can’t wait to give it to mom for her birthday!
