I was very disappointed to find psychotropic medication mentioned so frequently as the solution recommended by this medical doctor especially when: 1. It has not been proven as a "cure all" for humans. 2.These medications have side effects and , can cause damage to vital organs if not monitored properly - This approach can get expensive 3. As every psychologist knows, it takes time to change ANY behavior, be it human or animal. The pet owner must realize that it takes a great deal of empathy, understanding and devotion to "cure" the unwanted behavior of any pet. Then, and only then, should considering giving an animal medication for "behavioural" problems even be considered. I gave this book 3 stars. In my professional opinion, I felt this publication to be more of a promotion of medication and less of an informative overview of how the kitten/cat owner can understand why his or her animal is behaving. Afterall, the wonderful, mystical and magical CAT knows nothing about US. That's why we must LEARN about THEM before we start "medicating" some of their natural instincts and, reactions to what is often, OUR bad behavior.Read full review
