I bought The Book of Miniature Horses several weeks ago, and have had a chance to read and look through this book several times. It is an easy read and I really liked the way it is layed out. It takes you through buying a horse, breeding, training, and showing miniatures. It also has several pictures which I think you will enjoy looking at. I am new to miniatures and wanted something that wold cover several topics about them, and this book does that. I would definitely recommend buying this book.
Unfortunately we were shamed with the buying of our miniature horse and had to return him. Now the book. Nothing but the best in reviews. This book is most informative and very easy to read. We know our time will come to get our miniature horse and this book contains a wealth of material. My salute to Donna Campbell Smith. A great book.
I had just gotten my first mini when I bought this book and I found it a great help. I already knew how to do general care, but this went into what it was like to show one and went into detail on things. Overall this book is one of the best Miniature Horse books there are.
this book was very informative. It told of the history of the miniature horse. It covered the care and health of a miniature horse, as well as choosing a mini for ownership, housing, transportation & equipment for your mini. One third of the book gave information on showing and training your miniature horse. It also covered breeding the miniature horse and what you need to be aware of if considering to breed your miniature horse. It has a glossary with a lot of information. It has a good bibliogrphy, interviews, and a good list of resources.
I bought this book thinking it had what I was looking for. I need more on training miniature horses. This is almost like english style Im looking more western style. Want to train to ride. Sorry
