If you want to get healthy read this book! I’ve been grain free for awhile and used to be dairy free until the pandemic. My functional medicine doctor was going over my lab results because they always take blood, and said I have inflammation and I need to eliminate dairy. Which I have. I highly recommend this book for kick-starting a new way to eat for the rest of your life. I found it very easy to understand and follow Dr. Hyman's directions. The recipes are easy and delicious. I bought this book because I wanted more energy, to relieve some chronic pain and lose 10 lbs I recently gained. I eventually met all 3 of those goals, although it took a few weeks longer on the basic program for me to lose all the weight. No cravings and I only got hungry when I didn't eat enough protein at every meal. This is a lifestyle change guide that I will continue to use for years to come.
This actually works and you are not hungry. The first day was very hard for me. I had a horrible headache, stomach ache and was very tired, but the second day I woke up without the sluggish feeling I normally have. I recommend starting this 10-day detox when you are not going anywhere and can stay home. I have been on this for 6 days now and have lost 5 pounds. The hardest part, again for me, maybe not for others, is the drink in the morning. It does make you feel full, but I have never been big on drinks in the first place so drinking a drink in the morning and not eating breakfast is still hard for me, but I made up my mind to do it and it is working, so can't complain about that and I figured 10 days isn't that long, so I'm still at it.
