If you want most of Crystal Gayle's charting hits for Warner Brothers Records in the 1980's, this is the DEFINITIVE release to own, as not only does it have most of her Warner Brothers hits during this period, but it also has her first big hit 'Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue' from her years at United Artists Records, and the hit 'If You Ever Change Your Mind' from her years at Columbia Records. To top that off, this compilation includes the hit 'Me Against The Night' that wasn't available on CD before, as well as two duets with Gary Morris ('Making Up For Lost Time', and the theme to 'Another World' that were previously found on the 'Dallas' TV Soundtrack, as well as Crystal and Gary's out of print 1987 release 'What If We Fall In Love?') For good measure, this release even has one of Crystal's newer recordings from 1995, 'Where Dear Friends Never Part' to round off this excellent compilation. Be sure to stay away from the out of print 1987 from Warner Brothers also called 'The Best Of Crystal Gayle', as it has only ten tracks, and the only difference between that release and this one is that the out of print release contains the hit 'Only Love Can Save Me Now' (which was also on Crystal's out of print 1986 Warner Brothers release 'Straight To The Heart.') Overall a superior compilation for the most successful time in Crystal's country music career.Read full review
