Such a Fantastic film in so many ways. Gives Great insight into what it could have possibly been like in their close quarters with one another.

This is a very well done Western made in a docudrama style. The acting is excellent and the settings are perfect. There's no wild west, running gun battles but the character studies leading up to Jesse James's assassination is well played and gripping. Jesse James was no Robin Hood and his psychosis did him in. The guy who done it paid the price for killing the legend.

This movie is one of the best westerns of all time. It could be shorter and still be as good. Most of the people I've talked to about it said they were so bored that they turned it off before it was done. But if you watch the whole thing, its really about the last hour that MAKES the movie. It's a pretty historically accurate depection of the death of Jessie James (brad pitt), and the stalker/freak named Robert Ford (casey afleck) that killed him. Ford stalked and knew everything about Jessie James, who was a HUGE celebrity of his time. He eventually joined James in a robbery and then began to live with James and his family. He wanted the celebrity that James had, but knew that he didnt have the characteristics necessary to obtain it. So he got his fame by killing James. He was turned into an instant celebrity, and made a fortune re-inacting the murder in a touring play. It's said in the movie that more people could identify Robert Ford during this time than the president of the United States. After Ford started to regret his actions and settle down, he to was murdered by someone that just wanted the fame that Ford had. It's truly a great movie. Give it a chance, but it is almost 3 hours long and could be told in under 2.Read full review
Well, I believe Brad Pitt did a good job, being like Jesse James. No one likes the Robert Ford character. Each actor did a great job of old western acting. The scenery was very imaginative, with the snowy backgrounds, and settings. Afleck did a great job,but a very weird character thats for sure. a FUNNY scene took place when bob brother went to talk to Jesse james brother about being sidekicks,so Jesse James brother told him, there will be no more robberies, and there will be no reason for sidekicks, so you can go and write that in your journal. Talk about a funny line, and the tough talk of a cowboy. This movie has a good swagger to it, but its sad that Robert Ford was a coward and shot Jesse James in the back without his guns. Not too mention with his back turned. History proves in the old west if you shoot someone in the back, instead of a official gun fight, you are a coward.Overall it was a good movie, and produce very well. Brad Pitt as I said before acted very well, and acted just like Jesse James. Matt DelaneyRead full review
