Picture starts slowly going into a village you’ll learn about the characters at this hotel and then the adventure starts on the train I’ve watched it multiple times and it still holds my interest this version gives you an announcer explaining all the scenes and why Alfred Hitchcock did what he did as a Hitchcock fan and have 99% of his films this was nice to have an explanation of why the scenes took place.

U.K. 1938 In Alfred Hitchcock's most quick-witted and devilish comic thriller, the beautiful Margaret Lockwood, traveling across Europe by train, meets Dame May Whitty’s charming old spinster, who seemingly disappears into thin air. The young woman then turns investigator and finds herself drawn into a complex web of mystery and high adventure, aided by the witty Michael Redgrave.

One of my favorite Hitchcock films! Very entertaining and whimsical- Hitchcock captures the era perfectly, with spys, nazis, etc... The actors are spot on and the mystery of the lady who vanished is totally kept under wraps until the end which is why this is the perfect mystery film. The Criterion treatment is well deserved, and makes this vintage film look great. Don't miss it!
One of Hitchcock's best British movies. If you haven't seen it, give it a try.

Nothing not to like in this movie, from the use of miniatures at the beginning to the different plot twists, off-beat humor and snappy dialogue.
