I love this book because it makes the principles of logic accessible to the Jr. High mind, when they could really use it most. At this age, kids need to learn to think critically when bombarded with advertising messages, peer temptations and insults, and when "discussing" their needs vs. wants with their parents. The book uses cartoon snipets in illustrating the various logic fallacies, in a very succinct chapter format. Won't take up alot of daily time to cover the topic, but will give you a week's worth of "homework" to identify these falacies out in the real world. Authors even have a website in which you can check for updated examples and lesson ideas on their blog. Super fun elective for homeschoolers.
Love - If there is only one Non-fiction book your preteens/teenagers read, this is it. The ability to navigate this complex world understanding what is true or logical and what is not is needed in our world. This book gives the tools needed for a child/student or unfocussed adult to make their way. Students love it! It makes for good, thoughtful dinner and family room talk. There are even games or exercises you can easily orchestrate. Don't miss bringing this powerful tool into your home and have fun with it at the same time!
This book although for young people is great for encouraging your mind as well!

I purchased this book with the idea of trying to teach my children to think logically and be able to determine bad reasoning when they hear it. This book has FAR exceeded my expectations. I am learning alot as an adult and would recommend this book to all adults with or without children.
