I teach crazy quilt skills and always recommend the 1987 version of Judith Baker Montano's THE CRAZY QUILT HANDBOOK as the bible of crazy quilt making. It leads you through selecting your materials, piecing your foundation and embellishing your seams with easy to understand instructions and drawings. The full color pictures are beautiful and inspire you to create beyond your original expectations. This is the one book every crazy quilt enthusiast should have in their library.
For the age of this book, its in good shape and the content is fantastic. Thank You!

I own all of Montano's books, and each one is special for a different reason. This was her first, and she followed it with a revision some years later. While the revision has more colored illustrations, I find the first edition to be clearer in the stitch patterns: printed in black and white, they are less confusing. The two books are good companion volumes for true crazy quilters, but if I were choosing I would stay with the first edition.
