Thanks To Buddy - Waylon Jennings To sum up my feelings about the CD: Disappointing. Although the influence of Buddy can be heard in "Don't Think Twice" and "When Sin Stops" (Waylon's first recording), 'It's So Easy"" is the only song on the CD recorded (and written) by Buddy Holly. I had hoped that "Burning Memories" would be something about the friendship between Buddy and Waylon; but, alas, it is about lost love. There is a little bit of irony about "White Lightning". It was written by "The Big Bopper" himself, J. P. Richardson. Waylon gave up his seat on the ill-fated plane to Richardson. There are two songs on the CD that have been recorded by Roy Oribson. While Waylon does a fair job with "Dream Baby", his voice does not have the range for "Crying". The rest of the songs do not sound like the Waylon Jennings of "The Dukes Of Hazard" and "Luckenbach, Texas". For this reason, Waylon fans would probably enjoy comparing these early releases to the voice that we know today.Read full review
