I recently discovered the proclaimers while watching the British sticom "The Cafe". I like several of the songs very much...my favorite is the title song: Sunshine on Leith. The other song with lyrics: "I would walk 500 miles..." is very good and stays with you. This album contains a mixture of ballads and high energy pieces. I found a couple of the songs to be uninteresting..at least so far. However, overall, this is a fun album.

Alternative pop is topnotch. 12 tracks line this CD + Steve Shaw and Jerry Donahue bust out (string bending). "Sunshine On Leith" one of the tracks on CD is considered the main focus on this group. I purchased this CD for that track alone. This album popped into my head one day after years of being MIA. I once owned it on cassette and have no idea where it got off to. I love the entire album. It's shows an amazing range of talent and highlights the group's diverse musical interests. From pop to country to folk...and the harmonies are blended perfectly. I recommend it to everyone who truly appreciates every genre of music.
This is a great old CD! Good sound, and great songs!

Soulful Scottish balladeers, what more could you ask for? A mix of more pop styled tunes and the odd political one rounded out the album. For me, it was a top ten must have. Hard to understand for those who don't know their way through the accent, but wonderful vocals. Highly recommended.
