My 11 yr old son has Down Syndrome & is deaf. He has seen the trailer for Summer of the Monkeys on with another movie. He always got excited when seeing the clips of the monkeys. I checked e-bay & found it! I really prefer vhs, because they last longer & aren't as easy to ruin for my son. He loved getting the movie & we enjoyed it also!

Jay Berry Lee wants a horse, really badly. But he can't afford one, and his family is saving up money for his sister to have surgery. When a group of monkeys escapes from a train wreck, and a reward is put up for their return, Jay sets a plan to capture the monkeys. This is a touching story, especially at the end. I will not tell you what else happens, because that would spoil the story. This is great for kids of all ages.
Summer of the Monkeys seem good movie and watched it. there are other side showed old time abused children and I see this is not just good idea for children to watch. Good but fair, it does have CC included.
I PURCHASED THIS FOR MY GRANDDAUGHTER. WE WATCHED IT TOGETHER AND WE LOVE IT. I TRY TO GIVE HER A MIX OF MOVIES FROM ANIMATED TO JUST REALLY NICE FAMILY MOVIES. SHE WATCHES THEM OVER AND OVER.
