The wheel appears to be of high quality construction, but when installed, it bound up. The problem is that the metal shaft is too short for the plastic bearings inside the wheel and the nut binds against the bearing (which keeps the wheel from turning) instead of the shoulder on the shaft. The solution was to mill/grind a little bit of the plastic bearing off. Now the nut touches the metal shaft instead of the plastic bushing and the wheel turns freely. I saw a similar review on another seller's site before I bought this item, so I don't think that the issue is one of a kind. The price is right compare to OEM parts and the fix is simple if you have a hand grinder like a Dremel tool.

I was disappointed with the wheels . Something as easy as unbolting the old and installing the new turned into a lot more work. The new wheels don"t come with bolts, so no big deal just reuse the old, there is the first problem. the wheel is slightly wider than the old and now the nut doesnt go on far enough for the locking thread to grab. the second problem is the center metal sleeve is not long enough, and when you tighten the nut the wheel wont spin. A mechanic by trade I was able to get the wheels to work by removing the center bushing and sanding it about an 1/16 to 1/8 inch and finding a bolt long enough for the lock nut to grab the threads, about a 1/4 inch longer. Next time i will stay with OEM wheels and save in the long run.

These aftermarket wheels have about 1/8 " wider hubs than the JD ones and the axle nut tightens against them instead of the axle step so they don't turn on the 62c deck. It is possible to use them if you buy a washer and self locking nut but the extra hub width and friction will cause irregular wear on the plastic bushing and result in earlier failure, negating the price savings off the JD part. You should also make sure that your axles are not excessively worn, contributing to premature wheel failure. Also note that they have the grease zerk but do not come with grease caps.

The wheel itself is nicely made. The included wheel adapters/ spacers are too short for this wheel. If properly mounted and tightened, wheel will NOT freely spin. Had to machine a spacer to add to this included spacer/ adapter to make it work properly. The inside bushing can be also machined smaller to make work. Don't expect the wheel to arrive then work without spending personal time & money to correct the design. Once machined, wheel works perfectly.

my jd 62 c calls for am125172 wheel, which this item is to replace. it appears to work, but not out of the box. had to pop out the nylon spacer and sand it down (80 grit) till the wheel turned smoothly.. not real difficult, but think MFG should realize this and correct instead of buyer(s).
