Anyone who knows steel guitar also knows that Buddy Emmons is the maestro. His title as the world's foremost pedal steel guitarist is well deserved. There are other top players of this instrument but Buddy is still the best of the best. Everyone who plays pedal steel wishes they could play like Big E. Having met the man and been awed by his ability, creativity, and been inspired to play better, I thought it best that I hear his older jazz work. I bought both Steel Guitr Jazz and this title. This is my favorite of the two. From not even knowing what they would be playing 24 hours prior to the session, to laying down some very inspirered tracks, this album is a testament to the awesome talent of two great players, Lenny Breau and Buddy Emmons.
This is a CD version of a 1963 record album, and a must for any collector/aficionado of jazz or pedal steel.

This CD shows Buddy at his peak as a player. Though not originally recorded digitally, the CD is high quality and the session players are excellent.
