Technically, Mr. Sasgen does a good job and as a former cold war submariner it was a bit of a trip down memory lane. For that I enjoyed the book. However, I would not suggest it to those who do not have the experience. I believe it could be confusing and a bit too brief in clarifying explanation. I do appreciate the work but would recommend books like Blind Man's Bluff or The Silent War before this one.

As a qualified Submariner I recommend this book just like the author of 'Blind.Man's Bluff.

I ordered this book because it had great ratings. What a mistake! It is all about the history of the subs and the crews. I wanted to read about the actual missions they took but it never came. I bought it for my father-in-law who was on a sub during WW11. He found it boring also. What a let down. Wouldn't recommend !!!
