This seems to be an "unwanted child" for Sprint. They never really pushed their $10 a month add on and seem to have dropped it all together with no replacement. I guess they think every child needs a full function phone. We have used this with our disabled adult daughter and it would work great for a senior that needed a caretaker. It allows controlled access for inbound and outbound calls, provides for emergency calling, and had a destress alert that both alarms with a fairly loud alarm from the phone and send an alert message to whoever you decide to get the message. It had a GPS tracking system that can only be called "fair." The first major problem is the web interface is set up using "Flash" which is not supported by many smart phones. The second problem is it has very poor reception once indoors. However at $10 a month and the low price of the phone just the emergency alert and GPS function is worth the cost if you have someone that is not capable of self care. The GPS can be set to alert you if a person leaves an geographic area or if the speed of the person exceeds a set value. As a phone the sound is not too bad. It would have been nice if it had the ability to be used as an alarm clock but you won't find that feature. It will alert you if the user does not get moving after a set time so you know someone has overslept. Getting any support from Sprint on this is a problem. I've gone through three phones (one run through the washer, one in a lake, and one out the window of a moving car - long story). Each time I was able to activate the new phone with a phone call after the automatic activation failed. Already having a WeGo account made it easy as I didn't have to deal with adding a new account just replacing a phone. Bottom line is the phone is very basic as a phone but at a low cost does what other phones can't.Read full review

The wego phone, i dont believe, is produced anymore but if your willing to go through about half a dozen customer service reps at sprint you can still get the $10 per month add on service tou your existing line. The battery life is super long, there is no keyboard or app abilities to put little handa in trouble and the security features are awesome. I am not sure why speint would stop advertising this but its great.

This phone is useless as sprint does not support it anymore. They can activate a line and assign to it a phone number, but the site to set up an account, which is needed to set this phone up, such as its phone book, is defunct. Without anyway to set up this phone (it does not even have a number pad), it is just a paper weight.

This is the best idea for a kids 'first" cell phone.. it's better than I thought it would ever be...the options... the limitations.. the tracking the battery life.. the what ifs emergencies.. as a mother of five kids I would recommend for all mature at least 10 year olds the best birthday gift ever
