A good little banger, if you have the right headphones that can handle the bass. A cheap pair of headphones makes it sound cheap, and whiny. Get a pair of Sony extended bass in ear for around $30 dollars, and you'll be amazed. I already had a very old pair from when they cared about quality. But recently picked up a back up from Best ... and they are pretty decent. Yes it's cassette, yes there's a hiss to go along with the analogue sound. But I'm still enjoying it regardless of the trends of invisible files.

Wanted an inexpensive yet decent quality player to use while on foot, around house and town. The belt clip was an important consideration and does not disappoint. Sound is great and mega bass switch a nice option, as is the normal/metal tape switch. I find myself fiddling with both til the music sounds perfect. Push-button controls are responsive and easy to use. Very happy with this unit.
