Nice for the price, but there's probably something better for about the same money. I was looking for a decent music player, with long battery life, and got really attracted by the walkman series. I was short of money, so I got one within my price range (round 70 bucks). What's good about it: the sound is pretty good; two customizable EQs; amazing image quality (despite the 2" screen); very long lasting battery; very easy to use. That was what I was looking for in a music player. What sucks: bundled headphones are horrible; it does not work as a 'plug and play' device, you must transfer files by the sony software or windows mplayer 11 or itunes; any button will turn it on (I don't like it) and when it's off activating and deactivating the 'hold' will also turn it on; and what annoys me the most: it does NOT play a directory and moves on, you have to select the next directory/album. for me, this is THE most negative point about it. the only way to hear all you music is to select the "all songs" to play, but they will be played in alphabetic order, not by album as I like to hear. The negative list might seem very long compared to the positive one, but the positive points are very important ones when choosing a music device, while the negative points are less important, mostly personal things.Read full review
The player seems to be a really good product, reception is good on the radio even inside a metal building. The quality of sound is great also, I use it around loud machines at work and you can turn volume up to over come it and it doesnt distort. The only thing I found as misleading was the picture that was used to show the scratches and wear on the product. the screen was just about too blurred to see screen. I was able to over come that by buffing it out with a product that fixes that problem on auto headlights from my local wal-mart. over all I give it a good thumbs up.
I bought this item as refurbished. I was very impressed about the battery life, it can go for days on a single charge. Sound quality is best when using Sony headphones. This Mp3 player is small, it can fit in any pockets. The body/case is made to last. The picture viewer is nice but does not need to be there. It is a plus to have a radio tuner to this player, I do not really use it. Adding music, sync with the pc etc was a piece of cake. Overall this is a great Digital player to have.
Sony has long been a name associated with quality electronics and the Walkman, no matter what form it took, cassette, CD and now MP3, is great in its many forms. Ease of use is also a big factor, not to mention great sound. The Sony earphones aren't much, I opt for SkullCandy earphones, a great compliment to the sounds of the Walkman.
I have very few complaints about my walkman. I have wanted one for quite some time and have watched ebay trying to find the best deal I could for the lowest price I could. I did pretty well because I am totally a fan of Sony having all Sony in my entertainment center. I really don't remember exactly what I paid for this but I do know that it all works fine. I haven't managed to train it to download music without my help (lol) but if I could I would! It is rather scratched up but the seller did not say it was perfect so I cannot complain. Also seller included a new and really nice set of earphones. And really as long as it works what difference does a few scratches make? I am a grandmother of 11 so I like the fact that it is 8gb. I can put in lots of pics and still have my music. Right now I doubt if I have even used 1gb of the space. My problem is finding time to sit at the computer and download.Read full review
