I really like this line of Sony STR receivers for music. The bluetooth is excellent. The sound fields on 7.1 setups are excellent across all music genres. This receiver has crazy power that's pretty clean. I mostly got this for my teenage son so he could play obnoxious music at ear destroying levels (yes, I am that dad). Running these through two Bose 301 series IV speakers from 1980s and a surround field of Mirage speakers/w sub I picked up at auctions. He can fill a field with exceptional sound.

I see it has all the connections I will need. My house is small, so when something comes in, something has to go out. I have 2 Picture Tube type TV's in my living room and I need to get Rick, My boss's husband, to help me move out the two TV's, so I can put the 49" Sony 900E TV. I went to Best Buy on BLACK FRIDAY and got a good price and had them deliver it (since it has an android similar to SIRI on my phone, I thought it best to get 3yr extended warranty- they are only 15 miles away). It was a close fit for my SUV, so I had them deliver it. I currently have a surround system at home (2 15" ElecroVoice wolfers, 2 metal midrange, and 2 metal tweeters, along with 2 ElectroVoice crossover boards in the two AristoCrat cabinets. I started my original Stereo system in 1967 and changed from an electron-tube system (75 watts)(1967)(DYNAKIT) to the 120 watt Panasonic system in 1998, and now the SONY System! I have been very happy with Sony and Panasonic products over the years. So I haven't plugged it in yet, but in the past I have purchased re-furbished products from Panasonic and they have always behaved as new! I am sure I won't be disappointed by this tuner/amplifier. I love the balanced sound of these speakers, still one of the best budget systems. The Sony receiver is also a great value and HDMI makes setup easy.

I bought this item without a manual and so I was kinda lost on how to access all the functions, but after some internet research I found a website that allows anyone to view PDF of manuals for free. so I was able to unleash the awesumness of the sound this baby can put out! I really like the audio/speaker settings where you are able to change frequencies as well, and alter the subwoofer pre out decibels. even though this unit only allows 2 apps, Pandora, and Slacker radio, and probably a first generation smart receiver or close to it, i'm happy with that, already have all that stuff on my bluray player, and t.v., so I like the simplicity of the internet capability. my last home theater, a different brand, had all bells & whistles, but lack really great sound quality and was suppose to be just under 1500 watts. I can truly feel the output difference with this great Sony A/V receiver!Read full review

Good receiver for the entry level. Lacks pre-inputs for sacd, construction is good but being lightweight feels like a simple product. Internet has no radio stations. Basic giu.
