State of the art for its day this little camcorder can record in 16:9 as well as 4:3 screen format. The viewfinder allows shooting in bright outdoor conditions as apposed to using the swing out LCD screen. A variable speed zoom and image stabilization makes for a steady image. Although the video resolution is below that of any modern day camcorder, the Sony DCR-PC5 can still be useful particularly for archiving all your precious videos from years past. Tranfering videos onto a hard drive in MPEG2 format using the firewire feature preserves the original quality and makes it easy to view and share your videos.

The Sony PC5 in my mind is one of the greatest cameras ever built i know several people who own them and love them. They are extremely durable and shoot good video. I will be using mine for skydiving and this camera handles the speeds and conditions extremely well. It adjusts to light changes very quickly and is able to keep up with speeds in upwards of 180mph with no problem. I would definatley buy another camera just like this without thinking twice about it.
Bought the little Sony mini-dv camcorder because I needed a small camera to fit inside a homemade underwater housing. It arrived quickly and fits nicely. We do the "maiden voyge" next weekend to see how well it works. Everything went well, camera arrived quickly, and everything was as advertised. I think the only thing I would have mentioned in the description is that it won't shoot in a 16:9 mode, but if I'd done my own research, I would have discovered it myself.
