The z3 Compact D5803 is a fantastic phone. It's durable and will survive drops of about 4 feet (accidentally confirmed three times). I was a little concerned about the front glass cracking- but I've yet to notice any issue. The battery lasts about 1.5 days, but to be clear- I use a lot of data, and run the gps for about 30 minutes everyday. I usually have about 50% battery left after a day (9 am-11 pm)running with the screen on for a total of 4-5 hours. I can confirm my phone is waterproof, but always make sure that all the ports/flaps are sealed. Like all the other flagship phones, this one is fast. It may not be the fastest processor out there nowadays, but I honestly do not notice any lag or slow downs running multiple apps. If you were looking at this phone due to the size and durability and speed, I believe you will love this phone!Read full review
First things first, the phone itself is beautiful. Having glass on both sides gives it that wow factor. Feels very sturdy for a slim phone and the battery life is phenomenal. Dropped it a couple times and left no scratches or dents whatsoever which was surprising. Plus the accessories that came along with the phone was a nice bonus for the price.

I bought matching phones for the wife and I (we thought it would be cute). Needless to say, they have both broken (completely shattered screens) within a very short time following purchase. I dropped mine (have always been a bit of a putz). But, my wife's phone broke after resting in her jean pockets. That's it. No keys; no wallet; no spare change; nada. Nothing else in there but pocket lint. Her jeans pushed against the glass 'too hard' and cracked 3/4 of the screen. In case you're wondering, my wife is very petite. Truth be told, the major carriers stopped carrying Sony following the Z3. And, this phone's paper thin glass is most likely the reason why. I hate to give up on Sony as I've been a lifelong fan and really enjoyed my Xperia Z (which has survived many accidental 5 foot drops at my hands with nary a scratch). Unfortunately, when Sony nixed the Gorrilla Glass 3 with the Z3 family, the durability went straight down the drain. Pity such an affordable and attractive phone could turn into a 4.5 inch paper weight so suddenly. I'll be looking elsewhere for a mid range phone in the future.Read full review
