Besides the obvious aspect of it looking really cool, the controls for everything are really intuitive and I often use it while driving without even taking my eyes off the road (I wear it around a neck chain). Sound quality is really good and powers normal earbuds well at 1/3 volume. The battery even after 15+ years is still really good and I only really charge it when I go to put more songs on it. Only 2 downsides are the low storage size, though the device is really small and I don't throw whole albums on there or anything so that's not too much of a problem, and the required software. You have to use sony's sonicstage, which works on windows 10 for me, but is rather clunky and slow. It works best with atrac format songs, which sonicstage will convert for you, but it would be a pain to convert them all back if you ever wanted to take songs off the device, so don't use it as your only place you store your music. A little more complicated than drag n drop So depending on how you listen to your music, it might not be the player for you, but for me I really love having a fashionable device around my neck with all my favorite songs on it.
