I am running Cerwin Vega VE15F speakers with this and it sounds amazing. I have been to concerts that are not as loud! It also is a 7.1 channel system, not 5.1 as displayed here (has outputs for both surround back speakers.) Pros: Fairly simple to set up and get going. Lots of good clean power (actually produces around 220 watts per channel, more than the rated 170), nice looking unit (the entire front is milled from one solid thick piece of brushed aluminum), runs cool (does not get smokin hot like my last receiver), lots of input flexibility, did I say incredibly clean awesome sound??? Cons: great quality sound, but not enough equalizer settings for the front speakers (you can only adjust treble/bass and the unit adjusts the rest of the curve based on your desired treble and bass levels), no HDMI inputs, longer than my last receiver so I had to remove part of the back of my entertainment center which it kind of needed for ventilation anyway. Summary: I just can't get over how "loud and clear" it is!!!! Amazing deal for the price. MSRP was $1500.Read full review
